About our school

Morpeth is located on the Hunter River, north east of Maitland. It has a population of approximately 1100 and is a village of great historical importance. Morpeth Public school has been providing quality education on its present site since 1862 and is intrinsically linked to the community. The aim of the school is to provide a stimulating, balanced school curriculum allowing all children to do their best, while continually striving to improve effectiveness.

Proud traditions established over many generations continue to be nurtured and maintained by experienced and caring staff and supportive parents.

Our students are actively encouraged to behave cooperatively, to respect the rights of others and to give of their best. Quality educational programs across all curriculum areas are presented in attractive and stimulating learning environments. A wide range of opportunities for our students to participate in sport, debating, public speaking, music, dance and drama ensures an appropriate balance in the curriculum offering. Our many successes are proudly acknowledged within the wider school community.
